However, it was Katya Zelenko who became the only woman in the world to perform an aerial ram. On September 13, 1941, while returning from a mission near the city of Sumy, Zelenko, the deputy commander of the squadron, engaged in combat with seven enemy fighters on a Su-2 bomber.
