Those who are indifferent to these animals do not need to come to Turkey. Cat and Turkey are essentially the same concepts. And there's nothing you can do about it. You have to accept it unconditionally, whatever it is. So it happened. This is how their destinies are arranged - the country and the cat tribe. When this merger took place is unknown, but it seems that long before the arrival of representatives of the population living here today. Therefore, it can be assumed that the ancestors of cats, who now walk the streets of Istanbul and other cities of Turkey in countless numbers, witnessed great historical events, a change of epochs and cultures. And the cat tribe, this "people" with amazing properties, has calmly survived these epochs and now looks with its narrow green eye at the bustle going on around it, and understands that this is not forever either... Turkey's cats have an amazing understanding of this fact. Turkish cats are wise.
They value their own inner world.
Turkish cats perceive people for the most part as a given, with which it is necessary to coexist. It is impossible to say that they sincerely and faithfully love those who feed them and give them shelter. This is living close, but not love, neighborhood, but not attachment.
If you come to a tea shop and a huge creature climbs onto your lap without any extra ceremony, with a purring roar, do not be surprised and do not drive it away. This is not accepted here. Move over, let the creature sit next to you, treat it to something delicious, and while sipping tea, listen to its song.
They are extremely intelligent and resourceful people. If they set out to get food from you, rest assured that they will get their way. The cat will walk near your feet, stand on its hind legs, put its front legs on your lap, roll around and take various poses... Having received the coveted piece, the cat does not run somewhere far away to finish off the delicacy in a secluded corner, but eats lunch right there, next to you, slowly, with knowledge of the matter.
It is known that judging a country, its culture, mentality, and level of development can be done, in particular, in relation to the animals living on its territory. In the case of Turkey, it seems to us that this issue can be considered, but only in the context that a cat is a full - fledged member of society, one of the "nationalities" inhabiting the country, and in no case a creature that is lower than a human being.
Turkish cities have their own territory for cats. Independent and time-hardened natures, they condescend to look at people from roofs, benches, trees, and the ground. Lying in the shade of bushes on the grass, they contemplate this world full of bustle, with dignity and a sense of such a deep understanding of what is happening that you can only envy them...
